Strengths:
Grammar. I'm real anal about that; my brain automatically corrects mistakes in any fic I read. It's weird, but useful. Coz I kinda dislike bad grammar a whole lot, so my brain... adapts.
Spelling. Sentence structure.
And did I mention I'm used to British English? I spell a lot of things in 's' (realise, etc) and add a 'u' in words like colour and favour. Color is plain ugly. And wrong.

Weaknesses: Other languages? I'm English educated, but I can help a bit in Chinese. Coz I'm a Chinese that can't really read/speak Chinese, but it should be enough. If ever someone wants to put in Chinese in their fic/art. Characterisation.


For art betas:
I am willing to beta the following mediums: Any. But I'd just be like, "Oh, that looks nice." "Uhm, the shading's somewhat heavy here/The colours aren't blending in as nicely here" etc.


I've just finished high school (I am above 18, I do feel old. My country's public education system sucks. And private institutions are expensive.) and am waiting for my results that'll come out by the end of March. I may be going back to school to continue my sixth form studies by May/June, so most likely, I'll be very busy then. So if you send anything to me earlier, I may do a quicker job of it, no matter how tedious(meaning: terrible grammar/spelling). But if you do need a beta just for checking grammar and spelling errors (assuming yours isn't that terrible, just a check through), I can do that any time. I pretty much check my email everyday. Strengths: My vocabulary is fairly fabulous if I do say so myself; real-life has me grounded in music (classical/orchestral & modern recreational) so I feel pretty confident to offer advice in that area; I read + speak French tolerably but my Polish is better; I read a lot (of specific areas of writing), which is sometimes a strength...
Weaknesses: ... and sometimes a weakness; I slip most comfortably into an older vernacular + style of writing (1940s - 1970s or thereabouts), so post-modern fiction writers and I may have to do a fair bit of mutual translation to get by. Again, not a deal-breaker - I'm familiar enough with Welsh and Palahniuk, anyway - but it may make things a tad trickier. Also: have beta'ed for RL writers doing personal bits of original writing, but this would be my first time betaing for fanfic. A heads-up.
